SQL Server Developer — Contractor

Location: Sandy Springs, GA

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite — 5 Days per Week

Contract Length: 6 Months

Pay Rate: $50–$60/hour

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a mid-level SQL Server Developer for a 6-month contract engagement supporting critical integrations between a legacy CMS platform and Microsoft Dynamics GP.

The organization is currently executing a phased migration from Dynamics GP to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management (D365 F&SCM). This developer will help maintain and support existing integrations during the transition, allowing the internal team to remain focused on the D365 implementation.

This is a hands-on development and support role well suited for someone who is comfortable working with legacy systems, troubleshooting complex data flows, and quickly learning an existing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, support, and troubleshoot existing SQL Server integrations between the CMS platform and Microsoft Dynamics GP.
• Partner with existing team members to learn integration logic, data flows, dependencies, and known failure points.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize T-SQL, including stored procedures, views, queries, and ETL processes.
• Support data reconciliation and validation activities related to the Dynamics GP to D365 migration.
• Troubleshoot integration and data issues across finance and accounting systems.
• Document existing integration logic, dependencies, processes, and technical workflows.
• Identify and troubleshoot intercompany and consolidation dependencies across multiple business entities.
• Work with PostgreSQL databases supporting portions of the CMS environment.
• Take ownership of ongoing maintenance and enhancement work after the initial knowledge-transfer period.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of SQL Server development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with T-SQL, stored procedures, views, queries, and performance tuning.
• Experience with SSIS or similar ETL technologies.
• Experience working with or supporting an ERP environment.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL.
• Experience supporting finance or accounting-related data, including areas such as:
• General Ledger (GL)
• Intercompany transactions
• Financial reconciliation
• Accounting integrations
• Comfortable working within legacy applications and environments with limited documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently after an initial ramp-up and knowledge-transfer period.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP / Great Plains.
• Experience supporting an ERP migration, implementation, or cutover project.
• Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management.
• Experience with insurance, warranty, financial services, or other transaction-heavy data environments.
• Experience using Git or another source-control platform.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on SQL Server Developer who enjoys solving integration and data problems and is comfortable stepping into an established environment. This person does not need to architect the D365 migration but should be capable of keeping critical legacy integrations stable while the broader transformation is underway.
