Product Manager – IoT & Property Technology
Position Overview
Our client is a growing technology company delivering connected security, monitoring, and operational intelligence solutions to commercial customers. The platform brings together video technology, IoT devices, software, and real-time services to help organizations protect physical locations, improve visibility, and manage risk.
We are seeking a Product Manager to lead solutions focused on the multifamily and commercial property markets, with additional exposure to retail and other multi-location environments.
This role will own product direction from customer discovery through execution—working closely with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to determine what gets built, why it matters, and how new capabilities are successfully brought to market.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Own and continuously refine the product roadmap for solutions serving multifamily and commercial property customers.
- Identify and prioritize new capabilities based on customer needs, market opportunities, competitive dynamics, and business impact.
- Manage a portfolio of solutions spanning video monitoring, connected devices, access and vehicle intelligence, incident investigation, and operational software.
- Evaluate tradeoffs between customer demand, technical complexity, scalability, and commercial value.
- Help develop the business case and financial rationale behind major product investments.
Customer & Market Discovery
- Develop a deep understanding of how property owners, operators, and multi-location businesses use technology to manage security and operations.
- Conduct customer interviews, site visits, and discovery sessions to uncover pain points and emerging requirements.
- Translate customer feedback into clear product opportunities and prioritized development initiatives.
- Maintain awareness of competitors, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Serve as an internal advocate for the customer throughout the product lifecycle.
Product Development & Execution
- Work closely with software, engineering, and connected-device teams to move concepts from discovery through release.
- Develop product requirements, user stories, workflows, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog prioritization, testing, and feature validation.
- Coordinate dependencies across hardware, software, data, and service-delivery teams.
- Track roadmap commitments and help remove obstacles that could impact successful delivery.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Product Marketing to develop positioning, messaging, demonstrations, and launch plans.
- Work with Sales and Customer Success to support pricing, packaging, customer adoption, and product feedback.
- Educate internal teams on roadmap priorities, upcoming releases, and product capabilities.
- Participate in strategic customer conversations, industry events, and product demonstrations.
- Build strong working relationships across technical and commercial teams.
Product Performance
- Establish measurable goals for product adoption, utilization, retention, expansion, and customer satisfaction.
- Analyze product and customer data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Evaluate competitive offerings and identify areas for differentiation.
- Adjust roadmap priorities based on performance, customer feedback, and changing market conditions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
-
3–5 years of Product Management experience, preferably within a technology-driven organization.
- Experience owning a product, platform capability, customer segment, or market vertical from strategy through delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to develop product requirements and translate business needs into actionable technical requirements.
- Experience managing roadmaps and prioritizing competing product initiatives.
- Strong experience partnering directly with Engineering throughout the development lifecycle.
- Ability to turn customer discovery and market feedback into clear product decisions.
- Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder-management skills.

What We're Looking For
This role requires more than someone who simply manages a backlog. We're looking for a Product Manager who is comfortable talking directly with customers, identifying the real business problem, setting priorities, and working with technical teams to deliver the right solution.
The right person will be equally comfortable visiting a customer location, discussing requirements with engineers, evaluating competing priorities, and explaining the product strategy to commercial leadership.
