We are searching for a Fraud Associate to provide onsite support for a bank's risk and compliance department. This position is contract, onsite, and pays $22 to $24 per hour.


The role sits on the fraud mitigation and monitoring team, working primarily within the credit card department, with occasional support of prepaid card, deposits, and ACH.


Responsibilities


  • Monitor credit card transactions in real time to identify suspicious or abnormal activity.
  • Analyze customer spending patterns using analytical tools and dashboards to detect potential fraud indicators.
  • Review, escalate, and disposition system-generated fraud alerts in a case management system, primarily within the credit card department, documenting findings and maintaining accurate case notes.
  • Communicate with customers to verify transactions and resolve fraud concerns.
  • Collaborate with fraud operations, customer service, and risk teams to prevent losses.
  • Report on fraud trends, emerging patterns, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with maintaining predictive models that use structured and unstructured data to analyze behavior and detect potential fraud.
  • Perform data processing tasks, including cleaning and normalizing datasets, to help maintain model performance.
  • Collaborate with team members on the design and enhancement of credit card programs.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of applicable banking rules and regulations.
  • Assist in developing new risk flags and building reporting to monitor them.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information responsibly.


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • 1+ years of experience in financial services focused on BSA, AML, and / or fraud monitoring.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Intermediate math skills, including the ability to calculate interest, ratios, and percentages, balance accounts, and interpret data.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work through complex, non-standardized problems involving multiple variables.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
