We are searching for a Superintendent to provide onsite field support for construction operations on public works projects. The position is based in the Los Angeles area and pays $55 to $65 per hour.


Responsibilities

  • Lead daily field operations on public works construction projects
  • Direct subcontractors and manage self-perform labor activities
  • Review drawings, specifications, and field conditions to plan execution
  • Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment to maintain workflow
  • Manage work sequencing to ensure efficient project progression
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and timekeeping records
  • Draft RFIs for project management review as needed
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings and enforce safety compliance
  • Track project progress and support percent-complete validation
  • Maintain and update as-built drawings
  • Coordinate jobsite setup including trailers, utilities, and logistics
  • Participate in project meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain short-term lookahead schedules
  • Monitor field productivity and adherence to budget expectations
  • Represent the company professionally with owners, inspectors, and partners


Requirements


  • Minimum 3 years of construction field leadership or Superintendent experience
  • Public works construction experience required
  • Experience with water, wastewater, stormwater, or civil infrastructure projects preferred
  • Ability to lead crews and coordinate multiple subcontractors
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and field operations
  • Effective communication skills with project teams and stakeholders
  • Experience working in union environments is a plus
  • Experience managing self-performed scopes of work is a plus
  • Familiarity with public agency inspection and compliance processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Experience with Bluebeam and Procore preferred
  • Ability to manage documentation, reporting, and field tracking systems
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to safety and jobsite standards
  • Willingness to work on-site across Southern California project locations
