Registered Nurse (RN) Case Manager — JBSA-Randolph

Immediate Opening | $5,000 Sign-On Bonus | Monday–Friday Schedule

Location: JBSA-Randolph, San Antonio, TX

Schedule: Monday–Friday, between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM

Pay: $43.00–$46.00/hour W-2, based on qualifications and experience

We're hiring a Registered Nurse Case Manager to support JBSA-Randolph in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you'll coordinate care for military service members, collaborate with healthcare providers and military stakeholders, and help ensure patients receive the appropriate care and resources needed to support recovery and readiness.

What You'll Do

Core Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive RN case management services in accordance with applicable Case Management Society of America (CMSA) Standards of Practice and Defense Health Agency requirements
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers, military units, military treatment facilities, certification and waiver authorities, and other stakeholders
  • Continuously engage service members, military units, and other stakeholders regarding:
  • Medical records
  • Authorizations and approvals
  • Care and treatment plans
  • Medical appointments
  • Supporting services
  • Health evaluations
  • Help ensure effective care coordination and case management throughout the service member's course of care
  • Provide medical and policy expertise related to Medical Continuation (MEDCON) programs
  • Support prompt recovery and an appropriate pathway toward Return to Duty (RTD) or entry into the Disability Evaluation System (DES)
  • Conduct research, analyze pertinent clinical and administrative information, and develop appropriate recommendations and action plans
  • Provide guidance to service members participating in the MEDCON program
  • Exercise independent clinical judgment using applicable references, publications, memorandums, policies, and other documentation
  • Collaborate with patients, families/caregivers, primary providers, and other members of the healthcare team to develop effective plans of care
  • Maintain accurate and timely case-management documentation
  • Facilitate communication between patients, providers, military organizations, and other stakeholders throughout the case-management process

  • Salesforce via myFSS
  • Aeromedical Services Information Management System (ASIMS)
  • Electronic Case Tracking (ECT)
  • Medical Electronic Data for Care History and Readiness Tracking (MEDCHART)
  • PowerChart
  • MHS GENESIS
  • Air National Guard Reserve Order Writing System (AROWS)
  • Air Force Reserve Order Writing System (AROWS-R)
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Joint Longitudinal Viewer (JLV)
  • Veterans Tracking Application (VTA)
  • Other Department of Defense or Service Component systems implemented during employment

What You'll Need — Mandatory Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Graduate of a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse Case Manager

Licensure:

  • Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license from any U.S. state

Life Support Certification:

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) BLS Healthcare Provider certification

Case Management Certification — REQUIRED:

You must hold at least one qualifying case-management or related professional certification, including:

  • Certified Case Manager (CCM)
  • Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS)
  • Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN)
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN)
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse-Specialist (COHN-S)
  • Advanced Certification in Continuity of Care (ACCC)
  • Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC)
  • Nurse Case Manager (RN-NCM)
  • Care Manager Certified (CMC)

Security:

  • Must currently possess a Secret clearance OR be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance

  4. Be available to start work within 14 days of receiving the requested start date
